I saw this as a featured article on wiki today and had to share it.
Did you know that the sentence
"Buffalo buffalo, Buffalo buffalo buffalo, buffalo Buffalo buffalo."
Is a valid, grammatically correct sentence? it means,
[Some] buffalo [from] Buffalo, [who are intimidated by other buffalo from Buffalo], [also themselves] intimidate [other different] buffalo from Buffalo.
Did you also know that you can say
"Badgers badgers badger badger badgers badgers badger"?
This one means
"Badgers annoyed by badgers annoy badgers annoyed by badgers"
No you may not use these sentences a lot, or if you a remotely sane person you will never hear or say them in real life it could come in handy to know this.
English is not the only language that is messed up, out of the foreign tongue my personal favorite is
"Isha na'ala na'ala na'ala na'ala et hadelet bifnei ba'ala".
This little gem is hebrew for
"A respectable woman put on her shoe, locked the door in front of her husband"
Now that is something, a person can use on a day to day basis.
